Executive Director

The Eller College of Management seeks a qualified and motivated Executive Director, Eller Executive Education (EEE). EEE is the non-degree leadership development arm of the University of Arizona's Eller College of Management and provides customized non-credit education programs and organizational consulting for private, public, and non-profit organizations. The Executive Director will provide visionary leadership, driving EEE’s business development, marketing strategy, client relationship management, and program development.

The Eller College of Management is the University of Arizona’s business school with six academic departments (Dhaliwal-Reidy School of Accountancy, Economics, Finance, Management & Organizations, Management Information Systems, and Marketing), the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship, and several research centers and labs. The Eller College of Management is often ranked as one of the top twenty public schools of business with some of our degree programs ranked among the top ten. Through our undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degree programs, we currently serve approximately 7,800 students.

As EEE programs are dynamic with flexible offerings to support constituents, this role will include occasional on-site evening assistance and occasional weekends in both Tucson as well as Phoenix. International travel for client development and program delivery is expected.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establishes and drives the strategic vision for EEE in collaboration with Associate Dean of Partnerships, Eller College of Management.
  • Drive the financial success of the business by cultivating client engagements, generating positive profit margins and ensuring overall financial sustainability and growth of EEE.
  • Oversee business development processes including diagnostic/needs assessment, proposal development, commercial negotiation, signing and execution of agreements.
  • Manage the EEE team and serve as senior client relationship manager.
  • Lead financial planning efforts in reviewing budget, forecasting and related processes.
  • Spearhead quarterly reporting and strategic updates to the EEE Advisory Board and Eller leadership, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and data-informed decision-making.
  • Deliver thought leadership in design of cutting-edge executive education proposals/programs that support learning across multiple methodologies, learning platforms and across organizational levels.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA's):

  • Proven ability to build strategic partnerships and sell customized and sophisticated services to senior human resource executives.
  • Proven business development experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial management, including developing and overseeing budgets, analyzing performance, resource planning, and ensuring financial accountability.
  • Established network of business contacts with major US and/or global organizations.
  • Requires ability to travel, including overnight and international.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required. Master's preferred.
  • Minimum of 9 years of related work experience, including 5 years of managerial experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience leading a team, project, program, or function is typically required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or other graduate degree in business.
  • Background in business consulting, with demonstrated impact on organizational strategy and outcomes.
  • Experience delivering instruction or facilitating learning in executive education programs.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety ReportIn compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University’s campuses. These reports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
